The best way to repair the scratched epoxy floor and minimize the possibility of reappearing is by sanding and coating the floor with Urethane.

How to remove scratches on Epoxy floor

Step 1: Clean off dust and dirt on the Epoxy floor

Mix liquid soap and water in a bucket, then Use a soft brush or a sponge to wipe the floor off all dirt and dust in circular motions until crystal clear. Rinse excess foam with a soft cloth and let it dry.

Step 2: Polish the floor on affected areas

For minor scratches, use a dry cloth and polish that matches the Epoxy; rub gently into the scratches in equal motions until they disappear. For deep scratches, rub the surface using sandpaper.

Step 3: Sanding or Buffing

Sanding:

Mix a soapy water solution and pour it into a spray can; then Wet the scratched areas and take fine-grit sandpaper, wet it as well, and start rubbing. Keep rubbing and maintaining the area wet throughout the process until you can no longer tell the difference between the scratched area and the surrounding Epoxy.

Rinse the Sanded areas, wipe them clean and let them dry.

Buffing:

Make sure the surface is clean and dry, apply the polish of choice on the affected area, not too much or not too little, and rub in circular motions until the scratch disappears.

Switch the sandpaper from time to time in case the scratches seem too difficult. Polish and coat the epoxy to protect you from future scratches.

Step 4: Polishing & Coating

Having removed the scratches, polish to regain the shiny original look and blend in the sanded areas.

To prevent future scratches, Coat the entire floor with a urethane topcoat because urethane is soft and can resist scratching easily without interfering with the aesthetic value of the epoxy flooring.
